What happened to our run game?
Perhaps the Vikings got wind of the Redskins win over the Cowboys and decided to fold. At any rate we collapsed in overtime and were defeated by the Denver Broncos. The question that I have to ask is what happened to our run game? Against a defense that was rated so poorly against the run it is truly a disappointment to see a lull in the run game. I recall going into the game thinking, "We got this! We have Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor for God's sake!" Although Taylor had a decent game against the Broncos with 83 yards on the ground. It just wasn't what we had all hoped for. There were no running TD's. Just a couple late game pass TD's and a disappointing OT fumble that had a lot of us dumbfounded. It was an unfortunate end to a promising season. So what now? The answer is clear: next year. With a good run with a very new team that has a brand new coach we can expect some good work in the offseason and hopefully a fantastic season next year.
Larry Fitzgerald a Viking? The rumors actually began last season but once again the possibility of Fitzgerald coming to the Vikings has resurfaced. Speculation began after Charley Walters of the Pioneer press stated, If the Vikings decide to return with 24-year-old Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback, they'll need to try to trade for the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald of Minneapolis, who might also cost a couple of first-round draft picks, or sign at least two other premier wide receivers. This could be very exciting news for the Vikings. visit the forum and post your comments: Trading Block>>Larry Fitzgerald. |

Cris Carter named as finalist to Pro Football Hall of Fame. In his first year of eligibility Cris carter has been nominated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He finished his career with 1,101 receptions, second on the all-time list; had 130 TD catches, also second; and gained 1,000 yards receiving in eight straight seasons. Six Players to All-Pro team. Six players from the Vikings squad have been named All-Pro. The Pioneer Press said, "Guard Steve Hutchinson and defensive tackle Kevin Williams were named to the first team, while running back Adrian Peterson, fullback Tony Richardson, defensive tackle Pat Williams and safety Darren Sharper were selected to the second. The AP All-Pro team does not differentiate between the National and American conferences, reducing the number of honorees. Despite missing the playoffs, the Vikings were second only to the New England Patriots for all-pro players. The Patriots had five first-teamers and nine overall. Mcnabb To the Vikes? There are a lot of rumors about the Vikings pursuing QB options like Donovan Mcnabb. This is an enticing rumor to believe especially since Mcnabb worked directly with Brad Childress when he was the QB coach in Philly. Post your comments: Trading Block>>Donovan Mcnabb |
